CanSat NeXT Metasurface Resonator Antenna

CanSat NeXT Metasurface Resonator Antenna is a groundstation antenna intended for use with CanSat NeXT. It is designed for 2.45 GHz radio band, and so can be used with drones, Wi-Fi or other devices operating in that band. Unlike most Wi-Fi antennas, this antenna features circular polarization, which means that the signal strength doesn't depend on the orientation of the antenna. While the simple stick antenna can be used to operate CanSat NeXT to distances up to 1.5 km, this antenna can be used to extend the range and make the communication more reliable. The antenna gain is roughly 6 dB regardless of the signal polarization.
